Crito Capital has its origins in its principals more than twenty years experience as both buy-side investment professionals and investment bankers in the private placement arena. In order to work with a select client list, we have migrated from larger firms to a boutique private placement focus. While the regulatory framework requires us to sit on the sell-side of the aisle, the heart and soul of Crito Capital is squarely within the ethos of the investment advisory and banking community. That is, we think of ourselves as students of the capital markets and as investors first. We recognize the important fulcrum capital formation can effect through professionally managed venture capital partnerships, as both as investors in, and promoters of, venture capital funds. We believe that talented investment professionals, with a defined approach to making investment decisions and adding value to portfolio companies, can raise capital despite the challenges which face emerging managers. We enjoy the process of counseling investment advisers and we strive for excellence in everything we do.
ABOUT OUR NAME
Crito Capital is named after Crito, an adviser to Socrates, who appears in one of Plato’s Dialogues. Like Crito, we aspire to be a trusted adviser to our clients, and to counsel each client, enabling it to think through the best approach for presenting its most favorable attributes. In the Dialogue, Crito plays a critical supporting role to Socrates lead; so too do we provide our clients with the support each needs to execute a successful capital campaign.
